Entering the Faith
Becoming a Catholic starts with the acceptance of the basis tenet of the Christian Faith, the belief in God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, the acceptance of Jesus Christ as the son of God, who died for our sin, was resurrected and ascended into Heaven.
The journey continues in two parts:
Participating in your local Catholic Community
Through attending Mass, participation in parish groups and service and outreach through charitable endeavours.
Receiving Instruction in the Faith
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), or Ordo Initiationis Christianae Adultorum (OICA) is a process developed by the Catholic Church for prospective converts to Catholicism who are above the age of infant baptism. Candidates are gradually introduced to aspects of Catholic beliefs and practices. The basic process applies to adults and older children, with younger children initiated through an adapted version.
Should you wish to find out more please contact your local parish Priest.
